Cort Caldwell' s
Wellness Message

Lasting personal development is difficult even under perfect circumstances. When managing a restricted diet and trying to minimize or eliminate hampering symptoms, wellness building presents additional challenges. I created this resource to help bridge the divide between managing health and managing one's personal development. The two are fundamentally interconnected. Everyone will face health issues at some point during their lives. I want to help you stop just trying to recover from the acute illness, to stop merely managing chronic conditions. I will provide strategies I have developed to build a strong wellness foundation and facilitate lasting personal growth. I have designed most of the personal development sections to stand on their own. Many will be benefical to nearly everyone.

Build well,

By following this very simple and satisfying adjustment to your daily practices, your mind will already have fundamentally improved its method of gathering and filtering information.

As part of my Gluten-Free Living series, I will be periodically recommending certain topically pertinent subjects for you to research. This research can simply consist of utilizing your spare 5-minute periods each day and engaging in basic keyword searches. This task will enable you to:

  1. Become knowledgeable about an aspect of GF living, or dietary sensitivities. To foster and encourage curiosity, a powerful personal development catalyst.
  2. Build the habit of researching which will encourage you to use more free time productively to actively seek the answers to questions and concerns about virtually any issue concerning you and facilitate more questions entering into your conscious mind, fueled by your confidence in finding answers.

Your first research subject is the following: Intestinal wellness and balance.

Instructions: There is no time or location requirement for this task. While I suggest utilizing web search tools to harness your free time and curiosity, you may also use your public library or book store. InĀ  future segments of this series, I will suggest related, more detailed research subjects. For now, however, focus on utilizing your resources and becoming comfortable with using free time in the way I suggest.

Do not think of this exercise as a laborious process. Think of it in precisely the opposite way. Begin by taking advantage of quick an easy opportunities to gather information. Feel free to take notes or gather printouts if you like, especially were related to a particular health concern you face. One major benefit of this possessing this skill and the knowledge you acquire, is how much more informed you will be when speaking with your health professionals. You will possess far more confidence in discussing your health, and know more of the questions that matter. Remember, health care is fundamentally interactive. Your health care practitioners developed their particular skills for the express purpose of assisting you in resolving your concerns. Take advantage of this fact from the most informed position you can. Do not be quick to accept whatever diagnosis and prescription is meted out. You will know to inquire about a wide range of western medical, alternative, and traditional treatment options. Most people do not have the resources to reach the level of health expertise that your family doctor possesses, for example. That does not mean you cannot be full apprised of all the broad subject area, and know most of the questions to ask. Even the medically terminology will tend to be less intimidating and easier to remember since you will have encountered some of it in your research, and may even have some notes or questions with you.
