It is popular to be bulletproof. To act unimpaired by anything, receiving only benefit. Whether you are aiming for efficiency or fun, you will pay the price for your action. Everything ends up on the scale. When you drink those coffees so you can sleep less and work longer, there is a price. When you eat the foods to which you have an intolerance, there is a price. When you have those beers, there is a price. Taking legal or illicit drugs, there is a price.
I am not telling you what to do, how to behave, or whether you should stop whatever you do. Even if you act as though you are fine around others, before, during, and after, understand that any mind-altering or physiology-altering substance changes your balance.
If you are careful, and thoughtful (or just lucky) about your actions, you may discover a net benefit. The enjoyment you experienced, or the productivity you generated, may outweigh corresponding lethargy. But don’t fool yourself. If you fail to be mindful of your actions, and when they destabilize, you resign yourself to seeing the action more for its immediate result, and risk failing to link it to the overall consequences.
Be mindful of what you are about to do. Throughout the experience, examine the results within yourself, and admit these to yourself, so you consciously know the price. Don’t ever dismiss imbalance as random or personal weather . Whatever you do, be as informed as you can be. Permit yourself to note everything that happens within you. Moving forward, you will be able make more skillful and accurate counter balancing adjustments, as well as make more informed decisions about future actions.
Build well,
CRC
